Awareness is key.
Everything you do with awareness is deeper, more authentic, and can lift you higher.
(Once upon a time)
When we were humans . . .
We felt connected to each other.
We were caring for each other.
We appreciated the life, flowing through every being.
We shared our thoughts and emotions without fear of being judged.
We loved each other and we loved each, who is “other.”
We looked at Earth as our Mother and at the sky as our Father.
We didn’t claim to possess anything in this world, as we come and go.
We remembered from where we came.
We wished that every one of us should develop, flourish, and shine with our own light.
We knew the mysteries of the universe and
We knew that we are a small part of it.
We lived freely with heart open, enjoying every moment.
We looked with astonishment towards the creation of life.
We looked at the sun, the moon, the sea, and the mountains.
We looked into each other’s eyes and saw a universe within.
We were happy.
This might have been a very long time ago.
Unfortunately.
The Dragon
“How I will recognise my dragon?”
“Easy. He will try to kill you!”
This is dialogue from the movie “Avatar” (2009), on how to choose your dragon (in fact, he is choosing you).
It is normal that just before you reach the purpose of your life, you experience a very dramatic event, that can be as dangerous as death itself. You are coming to the point of no return—you go forward or if you step back, you will die.
I had many such experiences, but last year the one I had was so profound, that it pushed me to take the step . . . or die.
As I am writing this book now, you can continue to read with relief that there was a good outcome to this encounter.
What happened?
I was working for a company as the pandemic started. At the beginning of the year, I was awarded as “the best newcomer” and management looked at my actions with hope that I would “humanise the brand.” Yes, I tried, but you also need a human approach from the people who are leading in order to accomplish that.
In the middle of April, I was sent back home and promised that I would be able to continue to work from home and I just needed to wait about two weeks for a laptop to arrive. I was promised that due to the circumstances, I will also get paid for those two weeks.
I was on fixed contract (“contrato indefinido” in Spanish).
After two weeks I received a letter. No, there was not a super slim laptop in it!
This put me in a terrible situation: I had just moved into a new flat, had been cut off from my monthly pay, couldn’t travel anywhere, and on top of that, companies had stopped hiring people.
I was trapped in Barcelona in the high peak of the pandemic with very little money and in a society which was not working, filled with empty streets, and yeah . . . the virus was going on. . . .
I undertook several strategic decisions to reduce my costs and started to research how to sustain my life only through the energy of the sun. If I was not able to buy a food, considering the sun as the source of our life force and already people, who are “eating sun.”
Suddenly I had plenty of time to focus more on my inner development and on reconnecting with nature. For a while I was living next to the mountain and had some great moments there, where almost no people were going because of restrictions.
I wrote an email to myself and sent it with a future date. There I honestly reflected on my goals: in short term, middle term, and long term.
I was accepted for a job at and needed to wait a month and a half to start working there.
Once I started, my purpose started to get much clearer, especially after I wrote my book Karam.Yoga—Transitioning into a New Age at the end of 2020. There I summarised some artworks, projects, essays, poetry, and life experiences from the last twenty years.
In 2021 I started to take care of the health of the company I was working on, because I felt the huge pressure, we all had especially after the winter season. Looking for solutions, I started to speak with managers on different levels, to promote mindfulness and awareness at work, even opening a mental health and well-being chapter locally.
At this time, I invented the word “MediWorkAtion” (Mediation + Work + Vacation) and defined it in the book Meditation—Work is Love Made Visible.
After I spoke with a very charming woman named Zorina, who had two websites for development targeting on the one hand, business (GrownLearn), and on the other hand, promoting alternative healing methods (HealnLearn), somehow the term “Corporative Shaman” came to me. It was not the first time, but now it stayed with me and I started to reflect more and more on it and on my life, until I found that it describes my roles pretty well!
All I did could be described with the combination of this world and will explain why I am involved in social life, in everyday business, and at the same time am looking for the “worlds beyond.”
I started to speak more freely and openly about the Corporate Shaman and how I relate to it. More and more people showed interest in learning more about it.
On the 24th of May, which is not by coincidence the day of the Bulgarian alphabet, I gave an interview for GrownLearn and HealnLearn to explain what a Corporate Shaman is, what I understand about it, and why this is needed now.
This talk was called: “The Corporate Shaman & Mental Well-being. The Business as an Energy Structure that Can Be Healed.” It is available on YouTube, Spotify, and SoundCloud in English.
“𝘛𝘩𝘦 𝘳𝘰𝘭𝘦 𝘰𝘧 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘊𝘰𝘳𝘱𝘰𝘳𝘢𝘵𝘦 𝘚𝘩𝘢𝘮𝘢𝘯 𝘪𝘴 𝘵𝘰 𝘱𝘳𝘦𝘱𝘢𝘳𝘦 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘮𝘢𝘯𝘢𝘨𝘦𝘳𝘴 𝘰𝘧 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘧𝘶𝘵𝘶𝘳𝘦 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘨𝘦𝘯𝘦𝘳𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘪𝘴 𝘤𝘰𝘮𝘪𝘯𝘨. This is what I said during the interview on May 24, 2021, envisioning future events.
Of course, a Corporate and Community Shaman goes beyond this definition, which I gave while having something specific in my mind during this time.
We can say that he is looking at the holistic health of an organisation or group of people, and caring for the same spirit which is formed by the collective consciousness.
The shaman was mainly seen as a figure in a tribe. Nowadays we are distinguishing tribes in the business world called “companies,” and tribes in our private life called “communities.” That’s why even when the whole idea was initially to focus on the term “Corporate Shaman,” I understood soon that I needed to clarify that it is also for an audience which lives outside of the corporate word in a community spirit of co-existence.
